345 Brannan
A new five-story office building at the edge of the South End Historic District near South Park filled in a surface parking lot. The building is a modern rendition of an industrial building common in the historic district, employing a masonry-like rain screen façade and large windows with canopies that bounce light into the interior. Spacious interior bays were provided by the use of post-tensioned concrete floor plates, concrete shear walls, and an efficient side core. The building features a green roof and contains one of San Francisco’s first grey water systems. It was built by Swinerton Builders and along with its neighbor at 333 Brannan is currently the home of Dropbox, Incorporated.
