Our tall, skinny hotel proposal is clad with a sheer perforated metal skin.  Every hotel room has a Juliet balcony open to the outside through an aperture in the metal cladding and a large window behind the screen acting as an exterior shade. Three slightly different perforation patterns are employed; where shading is needed most, the hole pattern is less open. The result is natural ventilation and energy efficiency. The appearance of the building will vary depending on how light strikes the façade during the day and the pattern of how rooms are illuminated from within at night.

Although this project is entitled as a hotel, this scheme could easily be transitioned to housing.
